Energy Land and Infrastructure, LLC (ELI) is providing survey, ROW Exhibits, preliminary and final design, signal modifications, and contract documents for the intersection improvements and widening of SR-2/US 41 (Broad St.) at Rutherford Boulevard within City of Murfreesboro. The widening of this major arterial is being done in accordance with the City of Murfreesboro and TDOT standards, utilizing TDOT’s preferred 3D design software OpenRoads. ELI’s responsibilities included boundary and topographic survey, alignment and profile, roadway and drainage design, traffic control plan, traffic signal design, permitting, quantities, and contract documents, as well as utility relocations and public relations. The estimated cost for the intersection improvement and road widening is $1.6 million.
The project requires close coordination with the City’s planned future improvements to US 41 and Rutherford Boulevard. Along with coordination of future developments along the project corridor north of the intersection. The design required extensive effort to fit the widened roadway and intersection within the available corridor ROW while avoiding existing infrastructure and meeting design criteria.
