The City of Murfreesboro selected ELI to provide project management and professional services for the Broad Street Pedestrian Bridge project and related pedestrian improvements located near the intersection of Broad Street (SR-2/US-41/70) and Church Street (SR-10/US-231). The project will provide a pedestrian bridge over a multi-lane arterial state highway near City Hall and downtown. The bridge will connect the downtown area to a new City park and the existing greenway system. The project is funded in part by federal Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funds and is managed for TDOT through the Local Programs Development Office. As a Local Programs project, the plans will be created in accordance with TDOT’s Roadway Design Guidelines and current City of Murfreesboro roadway design standards.
ELI is providing survey, planning, and initial utility coordination for the bridge project. Along with managing the bridge and construction engineering consultants, ELI is conducting planning meetings, progress meetings, and utility coordination meetings. Conceptual bridge and ramp design options are under review by the City of Murfreesboro. Future tasks include ROW and utility certifications, final design, bidding assistance and the development of contract documents, and Construction Engineering and Inspection.
