We are hiring a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) for our North/South Carolina team! This position develops scope of work, fee proposal, project schedule, determines resource needs and all other tasks required of a project plan. They will be responsible for execution of the project plan to meet all internal and external goals including profit, schedule, quality assurance, billing, receivables, defining staffing needs, team direction, and other requirements of project performance.

The Professional Land Surveyor is accountable for providing leadership to the survey project team to achieve the goals and objectives of the projects. Responsibilities also include implementing project management standards and developing technical and professional survey staff. General tasks associated with this position include the following:

  • Project management, growth and profitability
  • Day to day coordination with design staff survey needs
  • Workload projections
  • Manage survey equipment inventory and maintenance
  • Resource and equipment evaluation
  • Management and recruitment of survey staff
  • Mentoring, leadership, and guidance
  • Policy and procedure evaluation and recommendations
  • QA/QC of survey deliverables
  • Client maintenance
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • 2 or 4-year degree in surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Professional Land Surveyor licensure (North Carolina or South Carolina preferred)
  • 8+ years relevant progressive experience in survey project management
  • Experience using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, PLS CADD (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with energy, Natural Gas, or Transportation projects (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with Trimble GNSS, 3D Terrestrial Scanning, UAS Part 107 (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license

Schedule:

  • Full time
  • Monday – Friday
